Well, I am a Christian, and when I was starting up as a self-employed consultant, I couldn't think of a non-cringeworthy, but still Christian-related name to trade under. You know, Rock of Ages, and all that stuff.
Heres a link to my church Holy Trinity with Saint Pauls, Hounslow
My wife Sue (Sue@rockcons.co.uk) looks after the organisation, etc. Send her an email if you're after payment.
Our nephew Jason (jason@rockcons.co.uk) lives with us. Send him an email (go on, it'll make his day!)
I am! Which is to say that Rock Computer Consultancy is my trading name. I am not a limited company.
I specialise in Unix, which these days means Linux; the best operating system around ATM. I have been using Unix of various flavours for around 15 years, mainly on PCs, although I have worked with all of the major hardware platforms.
I teach for LearningTree. At the moment, I teach several courses;
(336) Introduction to Unix
, and (396) Unix Tools And Utilities.
The intro course is what it says, whereas the 396 course is an excellent course for anyone wanting to become a bit of a guru.
The Solaris version of the "Intro" course is numbered 442
, the Introduction to Systems Administration is 435, and I also teach a couple of others.
I'm have also taught the interesting and exciting, but now defunct 444 Unix & Linux Optimization and Troubleshooting course,
which is all about optimisation, deleted file recovery and other esoterica.
My cv is here.
